The History Slots.
In the year 1887, a German immigrant called Charles Fey invented the first ever slot machine in San Francisco. He was actually working as a mechanic at the time. These slot machines were made by hand by Charles Fey himself and were put in the local gambling places on a rental basis of 50%. So as well as being the inventor of these machines, Charles Fey was actually also the initial proprietor of them.
In the year 1902 slot machines were barred in San Francisco, and not long after that, they were barred in all of Nevada and California.
In 1907 Fey had joined up with a company called "the Mills Novelty Company" and produced the first ever bonafide slot machine called the Mills Liberty Bell. This machine had a cast iron case as well as a Liberty Bell implanted on the front of it. The earliest symbols included the normal playing card symbols - hearts, spades and diamonds as well as horseshoes, bells and a star. The first ever machine is still seen today in one of the collections at a place called "Liberty Belle Saloon & Restaurant" in Reno Nevada. This place is actually owned and operated by Charles Fey's own ancestry.
The slots history continued with the launch of the quieter machine - the Silent Bell and the double jackpot. The time of cast iron in the slots history finally ended in 1915 when wood cabinets started to replace them. In the early 1930s period, the Mills Company chose to make slot machines even more unforgettable by introducing a number of colourful and striking cabinet designs. The very first of these changes was the Lions Head in the year 1931. Then it was the War Eagle as well as the Roman Head. In 1933 the Castle Front was introduced. As the slot machines started to become a lot more attractive a lot more people wanted to play on them.
Another innovation evolved in the history of the slot machines in the mid-1900's. This was the beginning of Big Bertha and the Super Big Bertha. These were the first slots to be driven by a machine.
